Teddington's small, friendly cycling club, born on a ride to Paris and built on fun, fitness and good company.
Waldy Wheelers began in 2014, when a group of friends rode from Teddington to Paris and decided not to stop. More than a decade on, it calls itself “SW London’s finest cycling club”, and it’s still small, friendly, and based on fun, fitness and enjoyment. It welcomes all riders, and its women’s section makes up more than a quarter of the membership.
The heart of it is the Sunday-morning social ride from Bushy Park. From there members branch out into racing, sportives, time trials, cyclo-cross and triathlon, and the year builds to an annual tour (Mallorca, most recently). Off the bike there’s a summer barbecue and a Christmas party with end-of-season awards, and members get the pink-and-black club kit.
