Twenty-five riverside acres where the courts, pools and paddleboards are all a short walk from Teddington Lock.

The Lensbury, riverside sports & leisure club in Teddington

Founded in 1920 as a sports club for Shell staff, the Lensbury has grown into Teddington’s big riverside club, with 25 acres on the Thames by the lock. The range is the draw. There are 24 courts for tennis, padel, squash and pickleball, with coaching; a Technogym gym; more than 165 classes a week, from Reformer Pilates to aqua; and two pools, one just for children, plus a sauna and steam room.

Then there’s the river itself: paddleboarding and motorboat hire straight from the grounds. Families get holiday camps and lessons. Afterwards there’s the Riverside restaurant, the Sports Bar, and a members’ lounge with a co-working space for those who never quite leave.
