Teddington Lawn Tennis Club

A friendly members' club on Vicarage Road since 1914, with clay and grass courts and a big social side.

Teddington Lawn Tennis Club, tennis club in Teddington

The club started in 1908 as the Queens Road Tennis Club, run by the Teddington Baptist Church Sunday School. It moved to Vicarage Road in 1914 and took its current name. More than a century on, it has six courts, three artificial grass and three artificial clay, and five of them are floodlit, so play carries on after dark.

Membership covers all ages and abilities. There are group and individual lessons with the LTA-accredited head coach, social sessions for different levels, and a busy league programme, with 16 teams in the summer and nine in the winter. The club sums up its ethos: participation, fairness, respect, sportsmanship and fun.
