Teddington Dance Studio has its own building on The Causeway, three minutes’ walk from the station. It’s a performing arts school in the “triple threat” mould, teaching dance, singing and acting to students from two and a half to adult, and it’s recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training.

Classes run from ballet, tap, jazz and modern to musical theatre, acrobatics and commercial jazz, with weekly drama too. Exam results are excellent, and there’s plenty of stage time: a showcase every two years, awards and drama evenings, and festivals and competitions. Some former students have gone on to Netflix and the West End.
