Teddington Cricket Club
Village-green cricket in a Royal Park, with a new pavilion, a roof terrace for spectators, and a team for everyone from five-year-olds up.
Teddington Cricket Club has been playing in Bushy Park for more than 150 years (it marked its 150th anniversary at the ground in 2013), and few clubs have a setting like it. Its new timber pavilion has a roof terrace where spectators gather to watch the game under the park’s old trees.
It’s a family-friendly club with adult teams, winter nets, a busy junior section with training and holiday camps, and a growing women’s and girls’ section, following a merger with Bushy Park Girls CC, open to players from age five. If you’re not playing, a summer afternoon on the boundary is one of Teddington’s simplest pleasures.
