With more than 600 members, the Stragglers are a fixture of Bushy Park. You’ll spot the yellow-and-black vests on the paths most weeks. It’s a community club that’s as much about the company of a shared run as the stopwatch, with room for complete beginners and serious competitors alike.
Thursday is the main night. Runs start from the club’s base at Bushy Park Sports Club, which has changing rooms, showers, and food and drink for afterwards, with groups for different paces. Members take part in cross-country and road races through the year, there’s a juniors’ group and handicap, and the Stragglists cycling section is there for days off from running.
