SIMMSplitz Gymnastics
A friendly, recreational gymnastics club for 5 to 12-year-olds, in a fully equipped university gym.
St Mary’s University is just over the Twickenham border, and its SIMMSport programme gives local children use of a fully equipped gymnasium. SIMMSplitz is the gymnastics club, recreational and affiliated to British Gymnastics, for children of all abilities aged five to 12.
Sessions are grouped by school year and run most weekday afternoons and on Saturdays. Gymnasts work through bars, beams, vault and floor and earn badges as they progress. Those who show real flair and commitment can be invited into the twice-weekly Advanced Recreation class. It’s a good first step for children who can’t stop cartwheeling round the living room.
