Ruba brings a bit of Lebanon to the High Street. The room takes its cue from the country’s landscapes and pastel colours, with vines trailing across the ceiling, patterned banquettes and arched lattice windows at the back. It feels like somewhere for an occasion, but at heart it’s a neighbourhood restaurant.

The menu runs from hot and cold mezze to meat, fish and vegetarian mains, cooked by chefs who stick to traditional recipes and source locally where they can. Vegetarians and vegans are properly catered for, and it’s open seven days, from lunch through to dinner. For a night in, it delivers too, either direct or via Deliveroo.
