Itabashi has been cooking modern Japanese food in Teddington since 2015. It’s an izakaya, the Japanese kind of relaxed after-work bar, and the room fits the bill: a long live-edge wooden counter, warm timber panels, samurai armour on the shelves and sculptural lights overhead.
The menu covers fresh sushi and sashimi, teppanyaki, tempura and izakaya small plates, with a boutique sake list to go with them. If you want to learn the craft yourself, they also run an online sushi-making community, the Itabashi Sushi Dojo.
