Flying Cloud Café
Coffee and cake from a 1951 Airstream, on a sunny deck by the footbridge at Teddington Lock.
Right by the Thames towpath, at the foot of the Teddington footbridge and looking over the marina, the Flying Cloud serves from a gleaming 1951 American Airstream. There’s no room inside the trailer, so everyone sits out on a deck of brightly coloured chairs under a sail shade, with the river and the footbridge in front of them.
The menu is short and sweet: good coffee, homemade cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, granola bowls first thing, and a weekday lunch deal. In summer, the Marshfield Farm ice cream is the real draw, and dogs get their own scoop. It’s the obvious stop on a walk to the lock.
